Instructions to make Mango Gojju:
  1. Peel the skin off the mango and cut into small pieces.
  2. Roast red chillies. Grind roasted dry chillies, asafoetida and turmeric powder to a fine powder.
  3. Add the mango pieces to the above powder and grind to a fine paste. Use minimum water while grinding (2 tbsp).
  4. Heat oil in a kadai and crackle mustard seeds. Add to it the chana dal, urad dal and curry leaves.
  5. Add the mango paste and salt to it and mix well. Cover it with the lid till the preparation thickens.
  6. Add grated jaggery to it and mix well again. Allow it to cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Cool it and store it in a bottle in the refrigerator and use it when required.
