- For making Koftas-Pressure cook the chholar dal/ Chana dal with little salt, turmeric powder & little water.Then smash it into a smooth paste.
- Dry roast cumin seeds, dry red chilli in a fry pan until you get the aroma of cumin.Grind them in fine powder
- Mash the paneer in a bowl.Add 1 tsp sugar, 1tsp flour, garam masala powder, salt.Keep it aside.
- In a kadai heat 2-3 tsp mustard oil.Add asafetid,ginger paste, turmeric powder.Saute for few seconds.Then add the boiled & mash dal.
- Add salt & sugar.Fry until the dal comes out from the ages of the kadai.Keep it in a bowl.
- Add the dry roasted cumin & red chilli masala or bhaja masala to the dal.Mix it well.
- Divide the paneer mixture into equal sized balls.
- Take some mashed dal stuffing into the hole of the paneer ball & cover it with paneer mixture to make round ball again.
- In a kadai heat some oil to shallow fry the koftas.
- Dust the koftas with little flour & shallow fry the koftas on low flame.
- For making the gravy-In the same oil heat 2-3 tsp of oil.Add ginger paste,chopped tomatoes & all dry masalas except garam masala.Saute for few mints with little water.Add salt, sugar.
- When oil start releasing from the sides add cashew paste & mix well with little water.
- Cook for another few mints & then sprinkle garam masala,slit green chilli.Switch off the flame.
- Transfer the gravy into a serving dish.Cut the koftas or Niramish Dim lengthwise & garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
